Hit-And-Run Driver Strikes Woman Walking Dogs In Marion
MARION, Mass. (CBS) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a woman walking two dogs on County Road, seriously injuring the pedestrian and killing one of the pets.
The woman and the dogs were struck at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Marion Police said. The woman was seriously hurt. She was taken to Tobey Hospital then transferred via helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.
A witness reported seeing a late 1980s or early 1990s Toyota or Honda sedan leaving the scene of the crash, possibly heading onto Mary's Pond Road into Rochester, police said.
One of the dogs died at the scene and the other was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.
