Hillary Clinton Signs Copies Of New Book In Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took her most recent book tour to Cambridge Monday evening.
The Harvard Book Store on Massachusetts Avenue hosted Clinton as she signed copies of her latest memoir, "Hard Choices".
Clinton apologized to the crowd for appearing close to 40 minutes behind schedule, citing traffic backups in Toronto and an accident on the Mass Pike on her way to the event.
The 1,000 supporters who had each paid $38 for a signed copy of Clinton's new book did not seem to care about the delay.
"It was pretty awesome," said Clinton fan Dee Angelakis. "I think she's going to be our next president. I just think she's really got what it takes."
Clinton's book tour has fueled rumors that she's contemplating a 2016 run for the White House. The former first lady has said that she likely won't make up her mind about whether or not to run until next year.
"She's certainly someone who I aspire to be like so it was pretty cool to actually meet her," said Somerville resident Amy Cowen, who waited in line alongside her friend Andy Morgan. Cowen choked up a bit when it was her turn to say hello to Mrs. Clinton, but Morgan seized his moment.
"I said, 'I supported you in 2008 and we'll support you in 2016,'" Morgan explained. "And I said, 'My grandmother said you're going to crack the glass ceiling'. And she said, 'Thank you and tell your grandmother thank you.'"
"It was wonderful," Morgan added.
