Heyman: Red Sox Interested In Erik Bedard
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox, Tigers, and "many, many" other teams are interested in trading for Mariners lefty Erik Bedard, according to SI's Jon Heyman.
Bedard has battled injury problems for years, and is actually on the disabled list with the sprained left knee. He is set to come off the disabled list on Friday in what could be a showcase outing.
Several other teams, like the Yankees, Rangers, Pirates, and Reds are thought to be interested in the lefthander.
Bedard has proven, when healthy, he's a very good major league pitcher. In 15 starts this season, he is 4-6 with a 3.00 ERA and 85 strikeouts over 90 innings.
