Heatwave...

Records fell today across Southern New England most notable in Boston...old record 95, new record 96.  We've also seen two straight days in the nineties...97 on Wednesday and 96 today.  Tomorrow most will see 90 or higher again making it three straight days and an official heatwave.  Warmest temps will occur inland away from the coast where low 90s are expected but at the coast seabreezes will likely develop in spots making for an interesting temp map in the afternoon tomorrow.  Contributing to the interesting temp map will be the fact that showers and thunderstorms will develop...some of these will strong and contain very heavy rain but at least they will cool the atmosphere off.

The front sweeping in from the west with these storms will be very slow to move through and a wave of low pressure will develop on it Friday night to slow it down even more creating additional showers for Saturday morning.  The wave will slide north of us for the afternoon and some hazy sun will poke out.  That sun along with a mid-level disturbance may create a few more showers in the afternoon on Saturday.

Finally by Sunday the air will feel much better and almost the entire day will feature a sun / clouds blend.  The chances for showers and storms goes way up once we hit Sunday night as a deepening Northeast trough will strengthen a surface low pressure area over us supplying much cooler and stormier conditions for early next week.
