Health center re-named in honor of Ted Kennedy
Ted Kennedy, Jr was among those in attendance Wednesday for the re-naming of the Great Brook Valley Health Center in Worcester.
The center was re-named the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center on the one year anniversary of the senator's death.
The late Senator, known as the "Founding Father of Community Health Centers," was a champion for universal access to health care, particularly for low-income and immigrant individuals and families.
Congressman Jim McGovern, Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray, and other state, local and community leaders were on hand to honor the Senator's legacy at the re-naming celebration.
The health center serves 20,000 patients annually at its facilities in Worcester and Framingham.
