Hawk Attacks Remote Controlled Camera Above Cambridge Park
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – A hawk and a helicopter camera collided in a midair battle over a Cambridge park this week. Fortunately, both came out unscathed.
YouTube user Christopher Schmidt posted a video taken by a camera attached to his quadcopter, a drone-like device, at Magazine Beach Park in Cambridge on October 8.
In the video, a hawk can be seen sizing up the quadcopter and flying towards it with its talons extended.
The bird grabs hold of the device and both tumble towards the ground below.
Schmidt said he throttled down the propellers of the quadcopter when he saw the bird approaching in order to minimize damage to the bird.
According to the YouTube user, both the bird and quadcopter were unharmed.
