Two Hanson Home Invasion Suspects Held Without Bail
HANSON (CBS) – Two men allegedly involved in a Thursday Hanson home invasion were ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
Appearing in court on Friday, Anthony Marcelino and Andrew Jorge were allowed by a judge to hide their faces behind a wall.
Both suspects were ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, which is scheduled for Thursday.
A third suspect remains at large, though police released a surveillance image of the man.
In court Friday, prosecutors said the homeowner was about to walk her dog Thursday morning when she saw two men in hooded sweatshirts and then heard a bang.
Fearing for her safety, the homeowner ran to a nearby convenience store where she called her boyfriend and Hanson Police.
When officers arrived, the group of men ran. One of the suspects allegedly dropped a safe in the front yard as the group attempted to escape.
Jorge was armed with a handgun when he was arrested, police said. Marcelino was tracked by a police K-9 and taken into custody.
While police searched for the suspects, several schools in town were placed into shelter in place mode as a precaution.
Police said the men may be connected to other home invasions in the area.
