Haggerty On T&R: Should The Bruins Trade Rask?
The Bruins made it 4 wins in a row with a 6-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night at the Garden. Next up for Boston is Buffalo on Saturday night.
Joe Haggerty joined Toucher & Rich to discuss the winning streak and the goaltending situation.
At the end of the season goalie Tuukka Rask will become a restricted free agent. Haggerty believes that the Bruins might want to think about trading him get to get some value back.
"I think it makes sense somewhere down the line this year if there's a need that they have, if there's something they're trying to fit. Whether it's another winger, whether it's shoring up the defensive depth, something down the line. I don't think it's going to happen tomorrow, if it did happen it would be toward the trade deadline at the end of the season. He's going to be a restricted free agent, he's going to command some money and I just know from talking to him, even though he's happy to win the Cup and he likes where he is and he likes the team that he's on and he likes the guys, he definitely wants to be a starter somewhere else and he wants to get that shot," Haggerty said.
