Gun Found In Cheerios Box In Dorchester
DORCHESTER (CBS) -- It wasn't long ago that cereals would put toys in their boxes, but a gun in a box a Cheerios?
That's what Boston police found Sunday night in Dorchester during the investigation of a double shooting.
Officers patrolling near Washington Street heard what they thought were gunshots, which was confirmed by ShotSpotter.
At 530 Washington Street the officers found two people who had been shot. One victim was taken to Boston Medical, the other to Carney Hospital, both with non-life threatening injuries.
During the investigation, officers talked with a woman who says she witnessed the shooting and when she was going to report it was assaulted by two men.
Michael Wiggins, 18, of Dorchester, and Lamar Brison, 20, of Dorchester, were arrested and charged with assault and battery and intimidation of a witness.
Both men were arrested at 11 Wheatland Avenue and as officers searched the home they found a loaded gun in a Cheerios box.
