Blue Hills Ski Area is in Canton, and the closest ski area to Boston. It's been around for about 50 years, and is now owned by the state Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR). It has 12 trails.

From Boston: Take I-93 South / US-1 South. Take Exit 2B / Milton onto MA-138 North / Washington St. Blue Hills Ski Area is approximately 1 mile on the right.

Lift Ticket Prices:
Blue Hills Ski Area has introduced a reloadable Flex Pass, a personalized card embedded with RFID (Radio Frequency ID) technology. Blue Hills uses the technology to keep track of the time you make your first run. Your pass is good for either 4 or 8 hours from that time.
Discounted passes are available online. You can also load the pass with lessons and rentals online.

There are lots of lessons available at Blue Hills Ski Area, starting at age 4.
