Gubernatorial Candidates Attend Forum At Faneuil Hall
BOSTON (AP) — The candidates for governor are trying to position themselves as the best human services leader for Massachusetts, promising to better support those services and the workers who help care for the state's neediest residents.
The comments came Wednesday at a candidate forum at Boston's Faneuil Hall sponsored by the Providers' Council, the state's largest human service trade group.

The four candidates who attended the forum — Republican Charlie Baker, Democrat Martha Coakley, and independent candidates Evan Falchuck and Jeff McCormick — said that those who provide human services should be paid better and those services given a higher priority.
During the forum, Coakley, the state's attorney general, again defended her regulatory deal with Partners HealthCare, Massachusetts' largest hospital and physicians' network, saying allowing its expansion will cut costs for consumers.
The election is Nov. 4.
