Forensic Psychiatrist Says Gribble Is Sane
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) -- A forensic psychiatrist says a 21-year-old New Hampshire man on trial for killing a Mont Vernon woman and maiming her daughter did it in part for the thrill of killing.
Prosecutors' first witness against 21-year-old Christopher Gribble is psychiatrist Albert Drukteinas, who took the stand on Monday.
Gribble has acknowledged his role in the October 2009 death of Kimberly Cates and the maiming of 11-year-old Jaimie, but he is asking a jury to rule he was insane.
Drukteinas says Gribble's actions were not the result of mental illness.
Last week, during Gribble's case, prosecutors focused on what they said was Gribble's ability to follow rules when he wanted to and to control his feelings.
Prosecutors are presenting their case in the trial of a New Hampshire man who has admitted being part of a deadly knife and machete attack on a Mont Vernon woman.
