Gresh & Zo's 2014 NFL Summer School: New Orleans Saints
BOSTON (CBS) - It's not your typical classroom. They're not your typical teachers. It's where you go after failing all year. It's Gresh and Zo's NFL Summer School on 98.5 The Sports Hub!
The summer school tour rolls on and heads to The Crescent City, where Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak break down and preview the upcoming 2014 season for the New Orleans Saints.
Taking Attendance:
Running back Darren Sproles was traded to Philadelphia, and the Saints also lost Will Smith, Lance Moore, Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper via free agency. New Orleans signed safety Jairus Byrd and cornerback Champ Bailey, and drafted wideout Brandin Cooks.
Gresh: "There's no doubt their offense is about to undergo a bit of a transformation, because they've invested a ton of money into Jimmy Graham and that led them to shave off some dough in other places. Jimmy Graham is really the guy in that offense. If he goes down they'll have some issues. Cooks has looked great in preseason."
Zolak: "I think New Orleans is going to miss Darren Sproles."
Pop Quiz:
Assuming Seattle and San Francisco are the two best teams in the NFC, are the Saints the third best team?
Gresh: "They have not been able to run the ball consistently enough to complement their passing game. They can spread people out and win that way, but as it's been proven you need a little balance. They're too one-sided. It's them and Green Bay."
Zolak: "It's between Green Bay and New Orleans."
Fantasy 101:
Which running back is going to score more fantasy points for the Saints: Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram or Khiry Robinson?
Gresh: "It's Pierre Thomas because he can catch the ball."
Zolak: "I'm with that too. He'll get the most touches."
Do you draft tight end Jimmy Graham in the first round?
Gresh: "Yeah. If the four running backs are off the board, Jimmy Graham might be your fifth pick based on how your league is structured."
Zolak: "But he's not paid like a receiver! He's paid like a tight end!"
Final Grade:
Last year the Saints went 11-5. Year before that? 7-9. Vegas has set the over/under at 10.5 wins. Where do they finish, and do they make the playoffs?
Gresh: "I'm going under. I think it's 10 wins, but it's good enough to win their division though."
Zolak: "12-4 hit me. Hit me and then hit me again. Hit me here and hit me there. They'll come flying out of the gate."
