Gresh & Zo: Peavy Trade Was The Right Deal For Red Sox
Late last night, as most of Boston was sleeping, pitcher Jake Peavy became the newest member of the Boston Red Sox in a three-team trade with the Tigers and White Sox.
Along with a handful of prospects to the White Sox, slick-fielding SS Jose Iglesias, who will most likely become the replacement for Johnny Peralta, was sent on his way to Detroit. Peralta is facing suspension for his connection with PEDs and Miami Pharmaceutical Group, BioGenesis.
In addition to Peavy, the Red Sox acquired Triple-A relief pitcher Brayan Villarreal, who is currently sidelined with a sprained thumb.
Gresh & Zo break down this late night deal, and how important this was in the Red Sox' push for another World Series title.
