Gresh & Zo: Thankfully Boston Doesn't Have A James Dolan
BOSTON (CBS)- Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak spoke on 98.5 The Sports Hub about New York Knicks owner James Dolan's outlandish response to a fan's critical email sent to him.
Irving Bierman, a 60 year follower of the Knicks, emailed the owner criticizing him for his front office decisions with the Knicks franchise.
"Bringing on Phil Jackson was a positive beginning, but lowballing Steve Kerr was a DISGRACE to the knicks. The bottom line is that you merely continued to interfere with the franchise," said Brierman.
Dolan fired back with an email full of headline material.
In the email, Dolan writes, "I am just guessing but I'll bet your life is a mess and you are a hateful mess" and "Start rooting for the Nets because the Knicks don't want you."
Gresh and Zolak noted the vast difference between troubled owners like Dolan and owners of Boston sports teams.
"Can you imagine getting an email return like that from [Celtics owner] Wyc Grousbeck or anyone in the Kraft family?" asked Gresh.
Led by Dolan, the Knicks are on par for their worst season in franchise history. They currently are 10-41 and coming off a 13-game losing streak, the worst in team history. NBA commissioner Adam Silver confirmed Dolan will not be punished for the hateful email.
"[Bruins owner] Jeremy Jacobs has taken heat in this city for years, and rightfully so. But even that guy, in a moment of rage, would never go down that road," said Zolak.
