Gresh & Zo: Sid Rosenberg Discusses LeBron James, Dwyane Wade And Erik Spoelstra
On Thursday's show, Gresh and Zo talk with longtime radio host from Miami, Sid Rosenberg. Sid and the guys discuss everything from the Heat fans to Wade and Bosh.
Rosenberg offered his Miami perspective, which said that the Miami fans are too sensitive to blame the great players for Heat failure and instead choose to blame Erik Spoelstra.
"Here you've got two of the five, six, seven best players in the world and three All-Stars, and who's getting blamed every single day? The guy wearing the suit on the sideline," Rosenberg said. "Give me a break. Are you really gonna tell me that Phil Jackson made Michael Jordan the superstar that he was? That Pat Riley made Magic Johnson what he was?"
Rosenberg explained that the only great athlete in Miami history is Dan Marino, but that that Dwyane Wade has approached that status. Rosenberg said it's somewhat surprising, then, to see Wade receive much of the flak recently. So much so, in fact, that he discussed potential Wade trades.
"If you could get Dwight Howard, then yes, I could see a day when the Heat would trade a guy like Dwyane Wade," Rosenberg said.
Rosenberg puts the rest of this series all on LeBron James' shoulders.
"You're the best player in the world -- tonight. You're better than Ray Allen, you're better than Kevin Garnett, you're better than Paul Pierce, you're better than Rondo, you're better than anybody on your own basketball team," Rosenberg said. "You gotta go out there tonight and get a triple-double and score 33 and hit your free throws down the stretch."
Rosenberg said Wade also needs to score 28 and be a superstar for the Heat to "prove to the world that you two guys deserve to be named in the top five in the world."
