Gresh & Zo: Patriots Need To Make A Statement
BOSTON (CBS) - The Patriots host the Jets in a big AFC East match-up at Gillette on Sunday, and 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh & Zolak want to see the Patriots make a statement in this one.
Both the Pats and Jets (and the rest of the division) sit at 3-3 on the season. The Patriots are coming off a disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with fans now doubting if they are a championship caliber team.
Although the Jets aren't viewed as one of the elites in the AFC, the Patriots can still send a message to the rest of the league by trouncing their biggest division rival on Sunday.
"We're going to find out if this team has championship gumption, if they've got the ability to get pissed off and punch somebody in the face and stand over them and say 'I did that,'" said Gresh. "Is this team going to get pissed off? Are they going to let us all know through their play it was a bad week?"

"It's almost statement Sunday for them. I think they need to win this game; find anyway to win this game," said Zolak.
"Maybe Brady is just sick and tired of hearing people talk about 'he's on the decline.' Remember when Aaron Rodgers two weeks ago had to field questions in Green Bay and he got pissed off. What'd he do? He went out and threw six touchdowns against the Houston Texans. Last week you believed they were back. We want to see something from this team on Sunday to tell us 'dammit, they're back, and they're pissed off,'" said Zo.
"We need to know they were aggravated this week, that there was angst around Foxboro. How do they do it? By coming out and setting the tone early," said Gresh. "If they win the game but don't roll and send a message, we're sitting here Monday saying they won the game but they need to find that extra layer or level of aggression we've come to expect."

"If they go out this week and win 42-17 and set the tone and are physical, and put one on the Jets, we know it's there; we know they have that championship element. It's not like they have to grow into it," added Gresh.
