Gresh & Zo: Patriots Make Solid Additions With Hightower, Jones
Gresh & Zo open up today's show after a wild draft night for the New England Patriots.
The Patriots traded up twice in the first round to draft Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones at 21st overall and Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower at 25th overall.
The guys are pumped up about the moves the Patriots made. They break down the versatile pass rush that the Patriots have now gained with the two draft picks. Gresh and Zo both liken Hightower to former Patriot linebacker Willie McGinest and the ability to be the true "elephant" player.
What is the "elephant player," exactly?
"The ability to drop in short zones, to put your hand down, to take on tackles, to take on maybe a third tight end and take on maybe a fullback," Scott Zolak explained. "Now, they kind of have that guy morphed into one with Chandler Jones."
Jones' and Hightower's work ethic and motivation really impress Gresh and Zo as the NFL draft excitement continues all day.
