Gresh & Zo: Penn State Football Will Survive
Gresh and Zolak discussed the sanctions handed down by the NCAA on Penn State on Monday. Topics include whether the right people were punished, and how the program will recover.
"You can survive this," Andy Gresh said of Bill O'Brien's current situation at Penn State. "And by survive this, I mean not become 2-10, 3-9."
Gresh said that the school's loss of 10 scholarships per year can be aided a bit by adding junior college players, while the appeal of playing at a big school will still draw players to the program.
"You're going to appeal to kids to be a part of the now and the rehab of what's going on, but also you're giving them opportunity to jump into the lineup right away," Gresh said. "Here's the thing -- Penn State might be on probation, but the NFL is not going to pass on a Penn State kid if he's an elite pass rusher or an elite quarterback. Now it's up to Bill O'Brien to make sure kids get drafted."
