Gresh & Zo: Napoli And Red Sox Agree To Deal
Word from the winter meetings in Nashville is that Boston and free agent catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli have agreed on a three-year, $39-million deal.
Gresh & Zo discussed the first big move of the offseason by the Red Sox. Gresh thinks that the Sox overpaid a bit for 31-year-old Napoli, but believes that it was probably necessary if they wanted to avoid signing him for four years.
Is it worth it to over pay a little to get a player like Napoli and fill an important need? Will Boston still be going after Nick Swisher? What move will help the Red Sox put them over the hump and back into the playoffs?
