Gresh & Zo: Josh Beckett Sending Message By Refusing To Speak To Media
For the second straight game, Josh Beckett has skipped out on his normal postgame discussion with reporters.
Gresh & Zo wondered why at the start of their show.
"He's sending a message by not showing up to these postgame pressers," Andy Gresh said.
Gresh and Zo both agreed that Beckett's been one of the best pitchers on the Sox staff this year, so his decisions to not speak to the media are a little surprising. That's especially true considering Beckett faced the music after a brutal start that followed his infamous golf outing.
"You may not have liked what he said, you may not have agreed with what he said, but he was still accountable," Gresh said. "He still walked into the room and he is definitely sending a message by not talking after these last two starts. The question is what message is he sending and who is he sending it to?"
"I think it's a direct shot at his teammates," Scott Zolak said. "I think this is about pitchers versus positional players."
