Gresh & Zo: Does There Need To Be Replay In Baseball?
Gresh and Zolak report from Foxboro fired up about the blown call in Monday night's Red Sox-Rays game, where Daniel Nava was called out at home plate in the bottom of the 8th inning in a 2-1 game.
Tampa went on to win 2-1, and the guys talk about how the blown call was avoidable.
"It was a missed call, a terrible call," Farrell said. "Clearly the angle of Jerry Meals behind the plate, he did not see the view, Daniel Nava clearly was safe. We should still be playing right now."
This play at the plate wouldn't have been the deciding factor in the game had Nava scored from second on a double from Stephen Drew instead of stopping at third. All that aside, do we need instant replay to avoid bad calls at home plate on close plays?
