Gresh & Zo: Are The Celtics Cooked?
Gresh & Zo tipped off Tuesday's show breaking down the Celtics Game 1 loss in Miami.
While some would like to blame the officiating, the bottom line is the Celtics couldn't stop LeBron James or Dwayne Wade in the 93-79 loss.
"The number one reason he Celtics lost that game was because they couldn't stop anyone driving to the bucket," said Gresh. "The officiating pisses you off, there are other things that get you aggravated… but in the end of the day they couldn't stop the two stars. I can't ask for Paul Pierce to do any more. I know he didn't shoot the ball well, but you're asking this guy to give you 40-minutes of basketball, score on the other end, and deal with either Wade or LeBron for the majority of the time. It's herculean what they need Paul Pierce to do to remain competitive. At times he can remain competitive, but at times his body is going to check out."

"Kevin Garnett has to get dirty," added Gresh. "We know he can knock down jump shots, but if they're going to have a chance he's got to get underneath, he has to get on the block and do the dirty work that really isn't his cup of tea."
Zolak thinks that even though the C's were whistled for five technical fouls in Game 1, they'll come out very physical in Game 2 Wednesday night.
"Look for them tomorrow night to take some guys out; hard fouls and send some messages," said Zo. "The Heat didn't back down last night. People want to kill Lebron for laughing under the bucket, but I just thought he sat there and took it and 'scoreboarded' it."

As bad as their effort was in Game 1, do the guys give the C's a chance in the series?
"I come away thinking they're going to make it close on the scoreboard, but I think when you watch that game you knew who the better team was," said Gresh. "I think they have the ability to win a game, maybe two. When the series is over, on paper it will look competitive. But ultimately it's kind of like what the Philadelphia series was. It went deep, but did you ever doubt the Celtics weren't going to win the series? In Many ways, even though it's the opposing team, that's the way I look at it now."
