Gresh & Zo: Aaron Rodgers Was Dope -- D.O.P.E.

BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots fans have been blessed to watch Tom Brady under center for the past 15 years. After all, greatness from the quarterback position is a rare commodity.

And after seeing Aaron Rodgers in person for the first time, 98.5 The Sports Hub's Scott Zolak was blown away by the skill set of the Packers' signal caller.

Zo had nothing but great things to say about Rodgers, praising his performance in Sunday's win over the Patriots, from play calling to simply being "dope."

"These are the two best teams in football, the two best offensive teams. Aaron Rodgers is dope. Dope. D.O.P.E.," said Zolak. "You need to see it in real time. You need to see it take place. You need to see him fit the ball in the holes. ... He went toe to toe with probably the best team in the AFC."

Andy Gresh also thinks highly of Rodgers, stating, "He's the best quarterback in football right now."

Rodgers has been on a roll since the beginning of the season, dominating on the field almost every game with stellar performances, and the Patriots entered Sunday having won seven straight games.

Gresh shared that this was the highest rated game in 2014 on CBS in three years, which speaks to both teams being the best in the league.

"I thought it was going to be hard for Green Bay to score 30 on them and somehow they found a way to keep them in the mid-20s, which was pretty impressive," said Zo.

The Patriots had many chances to make it a close game, holding the Packers to field goals instead of touchdowns, but that wasn't enough. Perhaps the Patriots will get another chance with a rematch in early February.

"We saw a fight out of this group, they get down and they come back. They [Patriots] responded in the second quarter, they responded in the fourth quarter. ... The bad is that if you meet Green Bay again you have to figure out either how to reconfigure your defensive line or you're going to have to address being able to handle their run game while putting in a group that can generate pass rush at the same time. That was evident yesterday," explained Gresh.

"There's a lot of good and a lot of bad. ... All is not lost, but how do you get better, how do you figure it out?"
