Man Accused Of Shooting Boston Police Officer Has Lengthy Criminal Record

BOSTON (CBS) - The man arrested for shooting a Boston Police officer has a criminal history dating back a decade.

The I-Team dug into Grant Headley's criminal record. It begins in 2005 when he is just 17 years old. Headley was convicted of carrying a gun without a permit.

One year later, he would go to jail for another weapon charge.

Over the next decade Headley would face a number of charges related to drug possession, drug dealing, and firearms. Court records show 10 instances where he was charged with a crime.

In 2009 Headley faced his most serious felony drug and weapons charges. He was sentenced to five years in Prison.

Headley was released in April 2015. Police say he went right back to drug dealing.

He was still on probation Friday morning when he allegedly shot a police officer in Dorchester.
