Gov. Patrick Discusses Trade Possibilities With Israel
BOSTON (AP) -- Gov. Deval Patrick has wrapped up the second full day of a trade mission aimed at strengthening economic ties with Israel.
The governor led a forum Tuesday on clean energy jobs and also discussed with Israeli business leaders the possibility of a partnership to create jobs and investment in the technology sector. Patrick urged Israeli companies to consider expansion in Massachusetts and also toured the Israeli offices of Framingham-based GlassHouse Technologies.
Patrick said there are nearly 100 companies with Israeli connections in Massachusetts, generating some $2.4 billion in revenue for the state.
The governor also visited the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, where he discussed partnerships with the life sciences industry.
The trade delegation will spend several more days in Israel before traveling to England.
