98.5 The Sports Hub's Bruins play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher spoke with Toucher & Rich about the final games of the season, Nathan Horton's status, Marty Turco and Rich Peverley's return from injury.
Nathan Horton is participating in dry land workouts in his effort to return from his concussion. Is this a sign of a potential return to the ice?
"I don't take a lot of optimism out of it, I really don't. To me it's riding the bike trying to get his heart rate up a little bit and see how he responds to that."
Turco made 25 saves to lead the Bruins to a 3-2 win over the Ducks in Anaheim and record his first win in a Bruins uniform.
Does Goucher see Turco starting anymore games now that it looks like home ice is within their grasp?
"Yeah I do, I think he will play and I think a lot of it was they had to be comfortable and he had to be a hell of a lot more comfortable than that game in Tampa where it was over in four and a half minutes."
Since the Bruins picked got Turco late he's no eligible to play come the post season. Providence Bruins goalie Anton Khudobin had been injured for a time, but has returned to the team for a few games.
Will the B's look to bring him up to get him a few games if the Bruins lock up the division will they look to bring up Khudobin to get some time in an NHL game?
"I think it would make sense, he is back playing."
Goucher also told the guys about a conversation he had about a week ago with Tuukka Rask, who has been out due to injury.
"He sounded pretty optimistic that he wanted to come back and get a game in before the end of the regular season, which to me was pretty significant because everything I had heard was more of six weeks than four for this injury."
Plus they discussed correctly pronouncing player names.
