Goucher on Toucher & Rich: 'Not A Bad Idea' To Put Seguin On Top Line
The Boston Bruins need to start scoring some goals, or else their dreams of repeating as Stanley Cup champions could go kaput in the first round against the Washington Capitals.
While there's no easy way to just start unloading goals against a team that's playing as well defensively as Washington is, radio play-by-play man Dave Goucher said moving Tyler Seguin to the top line with David Krejci and Milan Lucic might be the right idea.
"Those first two lines have been real quiet the first two games, and they've had a hard time generating a lot of decent chances," Goucher told Toucher & Rich on Monday morning, prior to Game 3. "It not be a bad idea. Seguin, Krejci and Lucic, when they were together this year, they were pretty effective up front. Where the Bruins felt that they could be a liability was defensively, and that was a cause for concern. But the bigger issue right now is offensive, and they haven't been able to generate as a team nearly enough chances over these first couple of games that they would like, especially for a team that scores as much as they do."
Goucher also broke down the play of Braden Holtby, saying the inexperienced netminder has been good but far from great thus far, and that the Bruins simply need to challenge him more.
"I think you'd like to see the Bruins make life more difficult on him than they have the first couple of games," Goucher said.
