Gorgeous Day In The Works

It's going to be a picture-perfect summer day with sunshine, low humidity, and high temperatures in the middle 80s...cooler at the coast.

A cold front affecting the Great Lakes region will begin to affect Western and Northern New England as early as Wednesday. There will be a very slight chance of an isolated storm affecting our vieiwng area far north and west of Boston (i.e. SW New Hampshire).  A stalled front to our southeast may sling high clouds into southeastern Massachusetts as well. Otherwise, humidity will begin to climb and a sun & cloud combo will stick around for the middle part of the week. Highs will be 85-90F. Dewpoints will return to the middle 60s.

Thursday will bring us the next chance of some afternoon storms, mainly situated north and west of Boston. These storms will have the potential to become severe. Highs will be in the mid 80s along with humid conditions.

The cold front stalls across the region as waves of low pressure develop along the front.  The upper level trough deepens and cuts off to form an upper level low. This is going to produce mainly cloudy conditions with showers and storms on Friday and Saturday.

Sunday will start off with clouds and a chance of lingering showers. However, it appears that skies will brighten during the afternoon hours.  A piece of 500H energy will be swinging around which will possibly induce diurnal clouds. Highs are expected to climb into the lower 80s.

Tropics Update:  T.S. Ernesto is forecast to become a category 1 hurricane before making landfall on the southeast coast of the Yucatan/Belize border on Tuesday night.

REMINDER: Perseid Meteor Shower peaks this Saturday night, August 11-12. Right now, it looks tricky since we may be under a cloudy to mostly cloudy sky that night. Let's hope that it clears out in time to view the 'show'.  Here is a link of the times and days when you're able to view the Int'l Space Station.
