Goodbye Sunshine

It was a gorgeous weekend!  We embraced the sunshine and the warmth as temperatures climbed into the 70s and 80s inland!

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

A little bit of morning sunshine/coastal fog will give way to clouds, which will dominate the sky this afternoon.

Showers will develop from south to north, mainly after 2 p.m. The showers will be on and off through the evening and tonight.  High temperatures will be cooler today with onshore winds blwoing at a 5-10 mph pace.  Along the coast, highs will be in the lower to middle 60s while inland neighborhoods will reach 65-70.

The unsettled weather pattern with a frontal boundary in the vicinity will induce a few afternoon showers and storms through Thursday.

The best chance will be northwest of 495 during that time period. That being said, I can't rule out a stray shower or storm for any location in our vieiwng area from now until Thursday.

Highs will remain in the middle 60s to lower 70s on Tuesday before we heat things up again on Wednesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, cities and towns away from the coast will be reaching about 80, but the immediate coast will be cooler in the upper 60s to middle 70s.

Friday is going to be a beauty with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies along with highs temperatures near 80 and cooler at coast.

Memorial Day Weekend:

It's what many of us consider the 'unofficial' start to the Summer season!

Saturday is showing a chance of some late-day storms that would last into Saturday night. This would be due to the passage of a cold front.

Then, models show dry condition for Sunday and Memorial Day. This could easily change as it's located toward the tail end of our 7-Day Forecast so please stay tuned for our fine-tuned forecast.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30.

However, our first named storm has already developed - T.S. Alberto.

Alberto isn't expected to change much in terms of strength over the next 48 hours.  Forward speed is forecast to increase tonight and Tuesday.

*This week's night sky is going to include a waxing crescent moon.

Welcome back to work and school. We hope that you had a wonderful weekend!

~Melissa :)
