Globetrotters Heading To Harvard To Teach School Kids
CAMBRIDGE (AP) - The Harlem Globetrotters are headed to Harvard to teach school children about character. No word if they'll throw in lessons on passing basketballs with your head or when it's proper to "pants" your opponent.
The famous basketball tricksters will be at Harvard on Monday to educate children from Cambridge's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. school, which has students from kindergarten through 8th grade.
The team will use its renowned ball-handling skills to help teach its "C.H.E.E.R. for Character" program. The program emphasizes cooperation, healthy mind and body, effort, enthusiasm and responsibility.
The Globetrotters have scheduled performances in three Massachusetts cities by month's end, including Boston, Pittsfield and Worcester.
