GlobalPost Journalist Held In Libya Calls Mom In NH
BOSTON (AP) - An American journalist has been allowed to make his first call to his mother since he was detained early this month by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.
GlobalPost says correspondent James Foley told his mother Saturday at her home in Rochester, N.H., that he was fine, that he felt strong, was not injured and was being treated well. He told her he was in a Tripoli detention center.

Diane Foley, said she felt relieved after receiving the call from her son.
Foley, who was covering the conflict in Libya for GlobalPost, was captured April 5. The 37-year-old Foley has been detained with Clare Morgana Gillis, a freelance journalist who wrote for The Atlantic and USA Today, and Manuel Varela, a Spanish photographer who works under the name Manu Brabo.
