Gisele Bundchen Makes Rare Comments On Bridget Moynahan, DeflateGate
NEW YORK (CBS) -- In an interview aired Tuesday morning, supermodel Gisele Bundchen talked about the "tough times" she and husband Tom Brady went through during the DeflateGate scandal, and revealed how she reacted when she found out that the New England Patriots star quarterback was having a baby with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
Bundchen sat down with Charlie Rose of CBS This Morning to talk about her new $700 coffee table book, her career and her family.
When asked how she and Brady weathered the frenzy over deflated footballs and a four-game suspension that was later overturned, Bundchen said love and a strong support system got them through it.
"I think we've been through a few tough times together. I think that's when you know who are your friends and who loves you," Bundchen said. "I think no matter how challenging it was, we've always been supportive of one another."
Bundchen also opened up about a sensitive subject – the son Brady has with his ex-girlfriend. Moynahan said she was pregnant with Brady's child shortly after he started dating Bundchen in late 2006.
"It was a challenging thing," Bundchen said. "Here I am, thinking I'm dating this guy, we met, we started dating and everything is great, and this happens."
Bundchen said she didn't know what to do when she found out.
"It was one of those moments of like, do I just run away?" she said. "Now, eight years later, I couldn't have asked for a sweeter bonus child."
Bundchen also choked up when Rose asked about her dog, Vida, who died about two years ago.
The supermodel retired from her career as a runway model earlier this year. She hasn't figured out what's in store for the future, something she called scary but exciting.
"Everything is possible. Miracles happen that way. The magic happens that way," Bundchen said.
