Giants' Canty Tells New York To Prepare For Parade
INDIANAPOLIS (CBS) - The Giants are certainly not short on confidence heading into Super Bowl XLVI.
Defensive lineman Chris Canty was asked this week to send a message to fans in New York. His message was pretty clear.
"Get ready for a great game on Super Bowl Sunday, and get ready for a parade on Tuesday," Canty said.
Canty, who was not a member of the Giants when they beat the Patriots in 2007, said he's not worried about providing bulletin board material for New England with his parade premonition.
"I don't care. Doesn't matter," he said. "Obviously, Tom Brady made a statement at their pep rally. Obviously, both teams are here to try to win a football game."
The Brady statement to which Canty refers was made last weekend at a send-off rally at Gillette Stadium.
"We're going down there for one reason. We're going to give it our best, and hopefully we have a lot more people at our party next weekend," Brady told the estimated crowd of 25,000 fans.
