Garza Throws No-Hitter
Rays starter Matt Garza tossed the 5th no-hitter in the majors this season in a 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Monday night. Garza needed 120 pitches for the no-no, walking 1, and striking out 6. It was the first no-hitter in Tampa Bay franchise history.
Garza joins the Rockies Ubaldo Jimenez, A's Dallas Braden, Phillies Roy Halladay, and Diamondbacks Edwin Jackson as pitchers to throw no-hitters this season.
