Game of Jones: Over/Under 6 Innings For Buchholz In First Start Back?
BOSTON (CBS) -- It was an over/under Tuesday on The Adam Jones Show's "Game of Jones."
In this edition, Jones and Adam Kaufman go Over/Under with the following topics:
- Number of games Luis Suarez will be suspended for his latest biting incident: 12.5 games
"I think it's going to be way less. When you're talking about club level, the games and the ratio of games is different.... He should absolutely be suspended; I wouldn't be bothered at all if they did 12, 13 or 14 and said he's done for the rest of the World Cup. I just think they want their stars in the tournament. They have to give him at least a game or a couple of games, but I don't think it will be anywhere near that big of a number."
- Joel Embiid's draft position: 3.5
"I say over. I can't see him slipping past Philadelphia (at third overall)," said Jones. "With two picks in the top 10, Philly should take Embiid at three."
- Number of Red Sox wins on remaining 5-game road trip: 1.5 wins
"I'll say over," said Jones, prior to Boston's 8-2 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. "I know they're playing terribly, but at the same time, they should be able to sneak out a couple more wins. Otherwise, if they go under, you're talking about two wins out of 10 games in Oakland, Seattle and New York. I'm not saying they'll have a winning record by the end of the thing, but I think they'll sneak out more than one win."
- Number of innings pitched by Clay Buchholz in his first start off the DL on Wednesday: 6 innings
"Six innings? Oh my God, under," said Jones. "Does he jog out of the dugout or do anything that gets him too winded? His last start, which he pitched well in, he only pitched six innings. I can't see him pitching much more than five in his first start in the big league level, even against a lineup like Seattle. I'll go under."
- Goals scored by Brad Marchand next season: 25.5 goals
"I'm going under, and by saying that I think he's still here," said Jones. "I think if he's somewhere else he has a little more potential for more upside in a more offensive system.... So give me the under. I don't see him getting more than 25 next season."
