Game Of Jones: How Long Will Red Sox Longest Losing Streak Be?
BOSTON (CBS) - It was an Over/Under Tuesday night on The Adam Jones Show's "Game of Jones."
In this latest edition, Adam Jones gives his take on the following topics:
- Points by LeBron James in Game 6 of NBA Finals: 39.5
"That's a big number, but I'm taking over. I think LeBron is going to come out and have, I'm not going to call it his Game 6 in Boston [in 2012], but I think he is going to make a concerted effort where he's not going to be shy tonight," said Jones. "It's not going to be LeBron setting up his teammates, crashing the glass, playing strong defense. This is going to be a LeBron James 'put the ball in the basket' night, so I'm taking the over."
James scored 32 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and had nine of Cleveland's 14 assists in their Game 6 loss.
- Minutes for Timofey Mozgov in Game 6: 24 minutes
"It should be over. I'm not saying it has to be a ton more, but if you're not going to play him don't start him," said Jones. "They ran away from him in Game 5, and I think that was a major error on Blatt's part."
Mozgov played 17 minutes in Cleveland's Game 6 loss.
- The longest losing streak for Red Sox this season: 9 games
"I'm going to say under. They suck, but that's a lot of games to lose in a row," said Jones. "I still think they'll turn it around at some point. They're not as bad as they're playing right now. I don't think they turn it around and win the division, but maybe they turn it around and become a .500 team. This might have been their worst losing streak of the year. Even if they have one a little worse, I don't know if they have a 10-gamer in them."
- Number of World Series the Braves should have won in the 1990s: 2.5
"Over. That team, with [Tom] Glavine, [Greg] Maddux and [John] Smoltz -- two of whom are in the Hall of Fame and Smoltz is about to go in -- it's three Hall of Famers, probably another in Chipper Jones, a fringe guy in Fred McGriff. Those were some great teams and they dominated the regular season, and then constantly choked in the playoffs. They should have been over that number; if you set it at 3.5 I may have taken the over."
The Braves made five World Series during the 1990s, but won just one in 1995.
- Number of days in a calendar year Phil Pritchard doesn't touch the Stanley Cup (glove hands): 1.5 day
"Under," Jones said emphatically. "Does he ever leave the [Cup's] side? And if he's not leaving its side, how is he not touching it?
"He touches it once per day, and maybe with different body parts," added Jones.
