Funeral For Seekonk Teen Killed In Hit & Run
SEEKONK (AP) - A top student and star athlete from Seekonk High School struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver is being laid to rest.
Funeral services for 18-year-old Jacob Mayo are scheduled for Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mayo was struck on Dec. 17 while walking along Interstate 195 near his home. Police are still investigating why he was walking on the highway.
State police say they have located the car believed to have struck Mayo, but have not charged anyone.
Mayo was a top student as well as a member of the school's football, basketball and baseball teams.
