Frosty...
A bit of wind and a deck of clouds are keeping temps close to 50 degrees this evening but later tonight, skies will clear and the wind will settle and temps will take a dip. By morning they will settle down into the 30s and scattered frost is likely across the countryside. Most susceptible locals are away from the coast and outside of urban areas and in low-lying areas like river and stream valleys. Best advice is to bring in potted plants and cover others that are already in the ground.
After the chilly and frosty start, tomorrow will be another Autumn like day with highs close to 60 and that crisp feel despite the sunshine.
The chill will begin to retreat on Wednesday as warmer air from the west starts migrating east. It will first work in higher in the atmosphere...this will create an increase in clouds during the day and scattered showers will break out by evening as well. Surface temps will be on the rise Wednesday night and a surface coldfront will pass through early Thursday morning. The cooler air will lag pretty far behind the front giving temps on Thursday the opportunity to climb well into the 70s and perhaps even touch 80 degrees.
The warm up will be brief as a cooler airmass ruled by high surface pressure will build in Friday and through the upcoming weekend. At this time, temps appear to be fairly normal near 70 and raindrops should be tough to come by.
