Freezing... Literally

A Freeze Warning will blanket much of our region late tonight into early Saturday morning.

This will be the first hard freeze of the season for many of our suburbs.

There is a high likelihood of frost in Boston and areas along the South Shore as well. Those areas will be under a Frost Advisory.

Clouds will be thickening this morning. There will be a few showers around from 9 a.m. (northwest) to 4 p.m. (Outer Cape/Islands).  Otherwise, there will be sunshine to end our Friday.

It will be cooling off quickly this evening. Highs will be in the middle 50's this afternoon.

This weekend will start off with sunshine and cooler temps in the middle 50's on Saturday. That's not bad considering Saturday morning lows will be in the middle 20's for many of the 'burbs to the middle 30's in Boston and areas closer to the coast, the Cape, and the Islands.

Sunday will be warmer and cloudier. There will be a chance of a few showers on Sunday morning as a warm front swings northward. Highs will be in the middle and upper 60's. Otherwise, skies will remain partly sunny, and the southwesterly winds will be energetic.

Next week will begin with mild temperatures in the 70's before a cold front makes its mark starting on Tuesday. That's when temperatures will fall back into the 60's, which is seasonable for mid-October.

Our weather pattern shows signs of remaining active through the end of the month.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season is still going strong.  Technically, it doesn't end until November 30. T.S. Patty will continue to lose its strength as it meanders toward the south-southwest.
