Franklin Mom Pushing For Law To Require Hospitals To Hold Overdose Patients 24 Hours
NORWOOD (CBS) --- Cathy Gilmore says if laws had been in place to protect her son, he would still be alive.
Gilmore was at the Statehouse Monday, pushing for new legislation that would require hospitals to hold overdose patients for a minimum of 24 hours.

Her son Anthony died at age 27 when he was struck by a commuter rail train in Norwood, last September.
Just 20 minutes earlier, Gilmore says her son was released from Norwood Hospital after overdosing on heroin.
"I have the release form that Anthony had in his wallet, there was blood on it from being hit," Gilmore said. "It said highly intoxicated on opiates."
Gilmore says she knows she can't bring her son back but hopes new laws will protect others.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030 has calls out to Norwood Hospital, but so far, the hospital has not commented.
