In a statement, the administration said it was "devastated by hearing of this allegation," but no one is saying what the allegation is.
"The alleged incident is disturbing and does not reflect the expectations we espouse as a school district or as a community," the statement read.
The teacher has not been identified, but has been placed on paid administrative leave.
"A staff member, who is also a parent in the community, approached us with some texts and tweets, making allegations about a high school staff member and inappropriate relationships with some students," Franklin Schools Superintendent Maureen Sabolinski told WBZ-TV.
Police would not comment and the Norfolk District Attorney's office said there are no charges pending.
The Department of Children, Youth and Families has also been notified about the incident.
