Foxboro Town Official Faces Assault Charges
FOXBORO (CBS) - The electrical inspector for the town of Foxboro was arraigned in a hospital bed Tuesday accused of beating his wife so brutally, she's in a coma.
Glenn and Julie Saltis were in the midst of a divorce. According to court documents obtained by the Boston Globe, it was to become final Wednesday. Julie Saltis was expected to visit the couple's large home on Ridge Road one last time to gather some personal belongings.
According to the police report, officers found Glenn Saltis shivering in the Neponset Reservoir behind the home Monday. He was taken to Norwood Hospital, and arrested there. The report says Julie Saltis had suffered from a blow to the head, and that investigators found "excessive amounts of blood" in the master bedroom, including "metal shelving...lying near the pool of blood."
"The kids always seemed so well-behaved," said neighbor Eric McElaney. "I never saw any sign of difficulty in their marriage. They just seemed like very nice typical neighbors."
Glenn Saltis pleaded not guilty at his hospital bedside arraignment. He faces a list of assault charges, including assault with intent to murder. He's being treated for hypothermia.
