Foxboro Kids Celebrate Halloween Early
FOXBORO (CBS) - In Foxboro on Saturday, hundreds of kids got in their costumes and celebrated Halloween early.
The town voted to have Halloween one day early because of the Patriots game on Sunday.
The decision was made because of concerns about post-game traffic. "(It's an) awesome idea because it's safer for the children in Foxboro and tomorrow night the game gets out at 7:30 p.m., and there are too many cars," said parent Mary Ann Prinos.
Many people have been supportive about the idea of moving the holiday, but others are complaining they didn't get a fair enough warning. "I've had people say they are not expecting (trick-or-treaters) tonight, but given the two choices, (Saturday) seemed safer," said Selectman Paul Mortenson.
Throughout the night, the streets of Foxboro were filled with scary costumes and very excited children, and the best part was, they didn't have to deal with heavy stadium traffic.
Wretham gets a lot of post-game traffic too, but after careful consideration, the town decided against moving Halloween.
