Former Student Charged In Stonehill Threats Due In Court
BOSTON (AP) - A Connecticut man accused of threatening to blow up a Massachusetts college is set to make his first appearance in a Boston courtroom.
Federal prosecutors say 23-year-old Sterlynn Robbins of North Branford, Conn., also threatened to kill two staff members at Stonehill College in Easton. Robbins was a student at Stonehill until he was expelled following an arrest on assault charges in 2009.
Authorities say in text messages sent to a female student, Robbins told the student to be on campus "the day I blow it up" and said he didn't care if he died.
Robbins was arrested in Connecticut Thursday.
He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Boston Monday on a charge of transmitting threats.
