BOSTON (CBS) - Former Lawrence School Superintendent Wilfredo LaBoy has been convicted of fraud and embezzlement.
A jury convicted LaBoy on six counts; five of the charges were for embezzlement and one was for possession of alcohol on school property. He was found not guilty on three of the embezzlement charges.
Prosecutors said LaBoy used his office for his own personal gain and took a kickback from a contractor working with the system.
He will be sentenced Friday.
