Former Andover High Basketball Player Gets Probation In Hazing Scandal
ANDOVER (CBS) - One of the Andover High School basketball players involved in a 2011 hazing incident has admitted to sufficient facts and will serve two years probation.
The Bristol County District Attorney's office announced Tuesday Easton Police found enough evidence to charge Craig Luschenat, 19, of Andover, and a juvenile, with hazing in the July 2011 incident at a private basketball camp at Stonehill College.
When given the opportunity to appear in a closed-door clerk magistrate hearing Monday, Luschenat waived the hearing and instead, chose to be arraigned on two charges of hazing.
At his arraignment, Luschenat admitted to sufficient facts and had his case continued without a finding for two years.
Luschenat was accused of forcing underclassmen to play a humiliating sex game during an overnight camp.
At the time, two students were expelled from school and five suspended in connection with the hazing. Andover's Basketball coach David Fazio was placed on administrative leave in the days following the incident.
A second player was also accused and is still facing criminal charges.
