Forecast for the Fourth...

While it won't be a perfect weekend, the weather should make most very happy.  The upper level disturbance that is producing the widely scattered showers this evening is rotating through and will pass offshore overnight tonight.  In the process, all clouds will melt away.  Warmer air will be working in all day tomorrow...in fact there is a little surface reflection indicating a warmfront, there may be a little lift associated with it but I am only expecting some scattered cumulus to develop along it in the afternoon.  The warmth and humidity will continue to flood in Saturday night and Sunday and highs on Sunday may reach 90.  There will be a slow-moving coldfront getting into the picture later in the day...a line of strong storms is likely on it and there will be heavy downpours and gusty winds associated with them.  I think the timing would be in the evening, likely after 4PM for these storms and they would not exit Eastern Mass until 10PM or later.

That front won't have a strong push from behind so it's likely to get hung up either along the coast or slightly off of it...let's hope it's slightly off of it and therefore we would be able to rule out t-storms everywhere except the Cape and Islands.  As of now the chance for a storm is very slim on Monday but there is still a chance...

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
