Flu Cases In Massachusetts Up 84% This Week

BOSTON (CBS) -- Flu cases are up 84% in Massachusetts this week.

Masks didn't just slow the spread of coronavirus; now that most mask mandates are gone, the CDC says more people are catching the flu this year.

The virus was nearly non-existent last year when mask mandates were in place.

While Massachusetts has seen an increase in the flu, the CDC said cases are still minimal and the severity risk is low.
