Fire That Destroyed Harwich Motel Ruled Suspicious
HARWICH (CBS) - A fire that tore through an abandoned Harwich motel early Sunday morning may have been intentionally set.
Harwich fire responded to the Stonehorse Motor Lodge on Route 28 around 1:30 a.m.
A massive response from surrounding departments was needed to help knock down the roaring flames. Cold temperatures created icy conditions for firefighters.
Crews from Brewster, Dennis, Chatham, Orleans, Yarmouth, and the Red Cross all assisted Harwich at the scene.
Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Hyannis, and Centerville assisted with coverage.
No one was injured. The building was a total loss.
Harwich Fire and Police, State Police and the State Fire Marshal are all involved in the investigation.
The fire has been ruled suspicious in nature.
